A person or family without the financial means to furnish their home is considered to live in furniture poverty. These people live in an empty and closed-off environment that doesn’t encourage them or build community.
Your used furniture donation can change the life of someone in need. Furniture is essential in creating a warm, welcoming, comfortable home environment which in turn is essential to unlocking one’s potential to live a productive and fulfilling life.Request a Pickup

Schedule a donation pickup today by filling out our online form! Once you complete the form, we’ll make sure you get a confirmation of the date and time of your pickup. Currently, we partner with Resupply to do pickups on our behalf. Resupply’s mission is to pick up gently used furniture and deliver them to partner charities who will put them to good use (like us!).
Once we pick up your item, we take it to our warehouse, where it will be inspected to ensure it is in suitable condition prior to being donated to a person in need. All eligible items are donated to those in need while any remaining items will be ethically disposed of.
Off the Floor supports individuals and families experiencing furniture poverty, including women and children leaving shelters, people transitioning from homelessness, and refugees to Pittsburgh. Individuals who are in a vulnerable position, including those on low income or new immigrants to Pittsburgh, may be eligible to receive furniture.
We are looking for either individuals or a team of volunteers willing to assist with furniture deliveries and pickups. We need willing volunteers, committed to service, who would be comfortable driving our truck, picking up donated furniture, and unloading in our warehouse in the Northside, or delivering the furniture to families in need. Such teams allow us to increase the amount of used furniture we pick up and ultimately help us serve more families each year. Sound interesting?Get Involved
